Just fixed a 450C for a customer -- They print on mylar film and they were having a heck of a time getting the printer to let them load the roll of mylar. When I examined the printer I noticed the at light on the right side of the carriage (called the line sensor) wasn't shining on the roller when the carriage was on the right side during initialization. I had a line sensor in my stash of parts and was able to quickly replace the part and get it to recognize the mylar film and of course, paper. I'm finding this to be a problem more and more on this model as they age from their original manufacturing date around 1994!
